Flins is a 5-star on-field DPS character in Genshin Impact who dishes out a lot of damage with very little work involved, making him an excellent choice for casual and veteran players alike. He doesn't play very well outside of Lunar Charged teams, however, so you have to ensure your party is optimized for his specific playstyle.

Best Flins teams in Genshin Impact

In a team with Ineffa, Comubina, and Sucrose, Flins is one of the top on-field damage dealers in Genshin Impact. While he loses this honor if you replace anybody here, Flins is still an excellent DPS choice who's mercifully easy to play. It's just that survivability and damage potential get even comfier if you have Ineffa. Add a Hydro character that works to enable the Lunar Charged reaction, and whatever buffer/debuffer you want in the last slot, and your Flins team is sorted.

Teams without Ineffa can of course work, but you need to make sure you're adding another Moonsign character, at least one Hydro character, and another Electro character to unlock Flins' true DPS potential. Ideally, you also want to pair him with teammates who have rotations as short as Flins' to make his rotations easy.

Bloodsoaked Ruins Flins' signature 5-star increases his Lunar Charged damage after his Skill is used, and boosts Crit Rate, Crit Damage, and Elemental Energy. His top pick by far, and extremely useful for fulfilling Flins' energy needs. Staff of the Scarlet Sands An excellent 5-star 'stat stick' as it increases Flins' Crit Rate, and Elemental Mastery is converted into more attack. Fractured Halo Ineffa's signature increases Flins' attack when his Skill or Burst is used, and increases the team's Lunar Charged damage. Staff of Homa This 5-star 'stat stick' boosts Flins' Crit Damage, HP, and attack scaled off his HP. Works best when Flins is under 50% HP. Primordial Jade Winged-Spear Another 5-star 'stat stick' that not only helps with Crit Rate, but increases Flins' damage after he performs a normal attack, which you will most likely be doing. Prospector's Shovel Great 4-star pick in Lunar Charged teams, as it boosts attack and Lunar Charged damage. Favonious Lance Can be used as a 'hit in case of emergency' option to fulfil Flins' Energy Recharge (ER) needs, but shouldn't ever be considered if you're using an Electro teammate, or have average ER Artifact stats.

Other good 5-star 'stat stick' options include Calamity Queller, Lumidouce Elegy, or even the Skyward Spine as a budget free-to-play friendly option to help with Flins' energy needs - with a little boost to his Crit Rate and normal attack speed too.

Best Flins Artifacts in Genshin Impact

Flins' best artifact set in Genshin Impact is the 4-piece Night of the Sky's Unveiling for its boosts to Crit Rate, Lunar damage, and Elemental Mastery. You have to have a Moonsign and Hydro character on Flins' team to make it work, but this should always be a given anyway.

You can use the 4-piece Gilded Dreams for more Elemental Mastery while you farm for Night of the Sky's Unveiling, or mix-and-match 2-pieces that boost his attack or Elemental Mastery.

The main Flins Artifact stats you should aim for are:

• Sands - Attack
• Goblet - Attack
• Circlet - Crit Damage/Rate

Elemental Mastery can work on his Sands and Goblet while you're farming for good attack options.

The substats you should be looking for with any of these Artifact sets are:

• Crit Damage
• Crit Rate
• Attack
• Elemental Mastery (lower priority)
• Energy Recharge (optional)

You only need to worry about Energy Recharge if you don't have a teammate like Ineffa or Fischl, and Flins' weapon choice isn't picking up the slack. Also, keep in mind that Flins' Lunar benefits stop at 2,000 attack. So if you have that covered elsewhere, you don't need to worry about building attack in your Artifact substats.

How to play Flins in Genshin Impact

Flins' rotation is simple: Skill twice, special Burst, normal attack, special Burst again. If you need more energy to do this, weave in normal attacks after the first Skill. You don't even need to worry about getting hit, as Flins gets Interruption Resistance after activating his Skill. Just keep in mind you need to do this all within six seconds after using Flins' Skill. If you don't, you're losing out on the damage window that makes Flins such a good DPS.

How does this work? Well, using Flins' Skill for the first time activates his Manifest Flame form, then using it again converts his Burst into a special form that requires less energy to use, and takes advantage of the Lunar Charge reaction to deal even more damage than usual. Weaving in normal attacks during all of this is required if you need more energy to activate Flins' special Bursts.

The only time you should be using Flins' normal Burst is if you somehow have an excess of energy outside his standard rotation and want to squeeze in a bit more damage. Also, remember that as a main on-field DPS, you'll want to activate your other teammates' buffs before starting Flins' attack, and let Flins catch any energy particles from his Electro teammates to help build his own energy for his special Bursts.

When levelling- up Flins, you should prioritise getting him to Level 90 and improving his Burst, then upgrade his Skill. Normal attacks can be ignored, but it can't hurt to upgrade them if you have extra materials and plan on using Flins a lot.
