Furina is a 5-star support in Genshin Impact who specialises in applying Hydro and boosting team damage. While her playstyle is easy, Furina's teambuilding is a little restrictive in its need to run her with a healer.

Even with this downside, Furina is a very flexible Hydro buffer who can also cause a decent amount of damage herself. So to help you make her the best she can be, this page details the best Furina build in Genshin Impact, including her best teams, weapons, and Artifacts. And if you want even more information on Fontaine's flamboyant ruler, check out our page on Furina's materials, kit, and Constellations.

Best Furina teams in Genshin Impact

These days, Furina is best used in a team with Skirk, Escoffier, and Vodyanitsa - but she has many other team options available. If you're ever in need of a Hydro applicator who also buffs team damage, Furina is a great pick - as long as you use a healer alongside her.

Furina is also an excellent choice if you're still running teams with characters that benefit from losing and gaining HP. These are mostly Fontaine characters, like Wriothesley and Neuvillette, or characters who use the Marechaussee Hunter Artifact set. That said, thanks to the Stellar Glimmer and Lunar meta, and the available Witch's buffs, these teams have newer support characters who work better than Furina in most cases.

So while Furina might not be at the top of the current meta, she's still a flexible Hydro support who can slot into a huge variety of teams - especially if you pop the Marechaussee Hunter set on your chosen DPS. I've highlighted some of the best Furina teams below that deal the most damage, their free-to-play alternatives, and some other notable team comps.

Best Furina teams with Skirk

Here are some of the best Furina teams when paired with Skirk in Genshin Impact.

Furina Skirk Escoffier Vodyanitsa Furina Skirk Escoffier Citlali Furina Skirk Escoffier Shenhe Furina Skirk Escoffier Yelan/Mona Furina Skirk Escoffier Charlotte/Layla Furina Skirk Shenhe Vodyanitsa Furina Skirk Charlotte Citlali Furina Skirk Charlotte/Rosalina Layla

Best Furina teams without Skirk

There are many more team member alternatives than listed below, but here are a selection of the best Furina teams when she's not paired with Skirk in Genshin Impact.

Furina Zibai Columbina Xilonen/Linnea/Illuga Furina Zibai Columbina Illuga/Gorou Furina Navia Linnea Columbina/Aino Furina Navia Xilonen/Nicole Chiori/Bennett/Yelan Furina Neuvillette Kazuha/Lynette Xilonen/Ororon Furina Neuvillette Ineffa Jahoda/Kazuha/Sucrose/Lynette Furina Neuvillette Escoffier Citlali/Shenhe Furina Wriothesley Escoffier Yelan/Shenhe/Xingqiu Furina Wriothesley Bennett Mavuika/Xiangling Furina Clorinde Nahida Fischl/Kazuha/Ineffa Furina Clorinde Kazuha/Sucrose Xilonen/Ineffa/Fischl Furina Lyney Mona/Nicole Sucrose Furina Lyney Xilonen Bennett/Mavuika Furina Raiden Shogun Lauma/Nahida Columina Furina Raiden Shogun Lauma/Nahida Kuki Shinobu/Ineffa

In Zibai/Lyney/Raiden teams without a healer, remember that you need to equip the Prototype Amber weapon on Columbina/Mona/Columbina to make sure the team has some survivability.

You can actually do this for any Furina team that doesn't have a healer, but does have a catalyst user - you just might lose out on damage potential. But the damage buff you gain from using Furina might be worth it.

Best Furina weapons in Genshin Impact

Here's a list of Furina's best weapons in Genshin Impact.

Favonius Sword This 4-star is generally the best choice when using Furina in a pure support role, as it produces energy for Furina and her team when she scores a Crit Hit. Freedom-Sworn You'll want to use this 5-star sword when pairing Furina with Skirk, or if you want to boost another DPS' damage (as long as Furina's Energy Recharge needs are met). Serenity's Call A great 4-star Energy Recharge/HP option when you're running a Nod-Krai team, as its HP boosts are enhanced when two Nod-Krai characters are in the party. Spendlor of Tranquil Waters Furina's signature 5-star sword is the best choice for her own personal damage, as it boosts her Crit Damage and Elemental Skill damage. Primordial Jade Cutter One of the best 5-star Crit Rate 'stat sticks' for Furina's personal damage, as it also increases her HP, with Furina's attack scaled off her HP. Uraku Misugiri Another excellent Crit Damage 5-star 'stat stick' that also increases Furina's personal Skill damage. It works even better when you're running Furina in a Geo team. Key of Khaj-Nisut Yet another 5-star 'stat stick', but this one increases Furina's HP, her Skill damage, and the team's Elemental Mastery. So it works best when Furina is part of a Lunar or Vaporize team.

As with most characters, there are many other 'stat sticks' that Furina can take advantage of if you don't have any of the options listed above. Ideally, look out for anything with a Crit Rate/Damage main stat if her Energy Recharge needs are met - but it's preferable if the passive effect can also be utilized by Furina for more damage gains.

Best Furina Artifacts in Genshin Impact

Furina's best Artifact set in Genshin Impact is the 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith, if your team benefits from a buff to their attack stat, like in a Skirk team. Works even better if there's a shielder on the team. Alternative support sets include Silken Moon’s Serenade if running Furina in a Nod-Krai team (for ER, EM, and Lunar damage boosts), or Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City (for EM buffs in teams using Natlan characters).

For Furina's personal damage, you should use the 4-piece Golden Troupe instead, as it increases Furina's personal Skill damage by a huge margin.

The main stats you should aim for on any of Furina's Artifact sets are:

  • Sands - Energy Recharge/HP
  • Goblet - HP/Hydro Damage
  • Circlet - Crit Rate/Damage

Only aim for an Energy Recharge Sands piece if you don't meet Furina's energy needs elsewhere - like with her weapon, or from another Hydro teammate.

When Furina is your only Hydro character on a team, if you have at least 180% ER with the Favonious Sword equipped, or at least 200% ER without the Favonious Sword equipped, you're usually safe to go for HP as your main Sands stat instead. Another Hydro teammate will reduce these percentages even more.

The substats you should be looking for with any of these Artifact sets are:

  • Energy Recharge
  • Crit Damage
  • Crit Rate
  • HP%

Again, you only need to worry about Energy Recharge here if you haven't met Furina's requirements elsewhere.

How to play Furina in Genshin Impact

The crux of Furina's support kit is her Burst, as long as you are constantly draining and restoring your team's HP. As such, Furina's gameplay is very simple: use her Skill to apply continuous Hydro damage, and use her Burst to buff the entire team. It's as simple as that, as long as you have a healer to counteract the HP loss Furina's Burst causes. Without a healer, or a single-target/weak healer, things get a little more complicated.

Thankfully, the complications mostly lay with her teambuilding, not with team rotations and gameplay. To counteract Furina's HP drain without a healer on the team, you can equip the Prototype Amber weapon on any catalyst user to provide your team with a little healing.

If you have a single-target healer, Furina converts overhealing into teamwide healing. And if you have a weak healer, then in an emergency, you can hold down the normal attack button to change Furina's Skill into its healing form. Her Hydro application and Skill damage stops while she's healing, though. When you're done healing, hold down the normal attack button to switch back to her damage/Hydro application Skill mode.

Another building issue with Furina is her very high Energy Recharge requirements, as you want to Burst with her as often as possible to keep your team continuously buffed. This can be solved with equipping specific weapons, Artifact sets, or bringing along another hydro teammate.

When levelling her up, prioritize Furina's Burst first if building her as a pure support, then her Skill. Or, her Burst and Skill if you're building her as a DPS/sub-DPS. Normal attacks can be ignored, unless you want to squeeze a little extra damage out of an on-field Furina.
