There’s a settlement to build, an island to defend and a whole lot of darkness waiting beyond the walls.

Beaconfall is a new fast-paced strategy game from Game Dynasty and Desert Water Games, now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, with three separate Xbox versions priced at £4.19 each.

The challenge is to keep a struggling colony alive while making the most of a rather important piece of equipment: a beacon that holds the darkness at bay.

At A Glance

  • Game: Beaconfall
  • Developer: Game Dynasty
  • Publisher: Desert Water Games
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC
  • Price: £4.19 (Xbox Store)
  • Genre: Strategy / Settlement Management

Build Your Settlement Before Night Falls

Beaconfall is all about balancing competing priorities. Players must develop their settlement, construct buildings and grow the local economy, but resources and available labour are limited. Every worker and every supply needs to be put to good use, particularly when enemies begin emerging from the surrounding gloom.

The beacon sits at the centre of everything. It provides protection by pushing back the darkness, but upgrading it also turns the structure into a powerful defensive weapon. Deciding when to invest in your settlement and when to strengthen its most important line of defence looks set to be the key to survival.

Short Sessions, Different Challenges

Each session lasts around 20-30 minutes, taking place on procedurally generated islands with their own scenarios and bosses. That should provide plenty of variety between attempts, while keeping each run focused and relatively brisk.

With its combination of economic development, resource management and settlement defence, Beaconfall looks to offer a compact strategy challenge where there’s little room for waste. Let the darkness get too close and your carefully built colony could quickly find itself in trouble.

You’ll find Beaconfall on the Xbox Store, in three versions. Take your pick from an optimised Xbox Series X|S edition, one for Xbox One, or a version that plays nicely on Windows PC.
