Long-time World of CHEL players know that a player’s build means everything. NHL 27 is no different, and your pro’s attribute distribution and perks can make the difference between dominating the competition and deleting the game in frustration. Not all the builds and perks are the same; let’s dig into the best ones for your play style.

It’s important to say that ultimately, you should use the build you like, whatever that is. You paid your hard-earned money, so all of NHL 27 — the good and the bad — is yours to play how you want.

That said, I’ve found what I think are the best builds for centers, and hopefully they work for you too.

Two-Way Forward

Centers need to be very balanced players in NHL 27. This makes for a more challenging build, since you will need to be strong in faceoffs, playmaking, and scoring. You can adjust your player’s attributes a bit, but you have limited points to spend. To add to one, you’ll need to take from another. And not every attribute costs the same. High-importance attributes like speed are much more expensive than, say, fighting is.

I’ve provided the build here for you:

  • Height: Stay between 5’11” and 6’2”
  • Weight: 178-195 lbs
  • Slapshot Accuracy: 81
  • Speed: 87
  • Acceleration: 86
  • Passing: 85
  • Offensive Awareness: 86
  • Stick Checking: 86
  • Body Checking: 78
  • Deking: 82
  • Faceoffs: 90
  • Fighting: 71

With the Two-Way Forward, you will want to boost speed, acceleration, endurance, faceoffs, and passing as much as you can. You can offset this by limiting attributes like fighting, body checking, and stick checking a bit. A big boost to critical skills will come from the perks you add. You will have to level up to earn them, so they won’t all be available right away. Once you’ve unlocked them, look to add the following perks to your player build:

  • Elite Edges – adds to speed, acceleration, and agility
  • Stick ‘Em Up – adds to poke accuracy, poke check recovery, and stick speed
  • Quick Pick – helps you automatically intercept passes that come your direction

While earning those abilities, you can add perks like Send It, which improves your long passing, and One T, which helps your one-timers in NHL 27.

Playmaker

If you want to be more offensive minded in NHL 27 World of Chel, go with the Playmaker build. This build gives you high-end speed and puck distribution, with sacrifices in some of the two-way abilities the other build has. You’ll want to explore this option if you have a club teammate who scores well and uses a build like Sniper. You’ll be ready to set them up with one-timer passes.

To make the most of this build, you’ll want to max out speed, agility, and deking. Put anything you have left over into passing, offensive awareness, and puck control. As for the abilities, work towards getting the following:

  • Elite Edges – adds to speed, acceleration, and agility
  • Quick Release – allows you to fire off shots quickly, increasing odds of catching the goaltender off guard
  • Ankle Breaker – gives you a boost of speed when successfully deking an opponent

Until you earn high-level variations of those, consider starting with Tape To Tape, One T, and Big Tipper. Those will help you stay competitive early in your club’s NHL 27 campaign.
